Privacy Policy

1. Data we collect

• Account data — name, email, password (stored hashed), and optional profile fields you provide (university, field of study, city, bio).
• Campaign data — content you publish as a creator (title, story, rewards, milestones).
• Payment data — we do not store your card number. Payments are handled by Stripe, which stores and processes card data under its own privacy policy.
• Technical data — basic logs (IP, browser) for security and performance.

2. How we use your data

• To operate your account and the platform.
• To process pledges and payouts through Stripe.
• To show your public profile and campaigns to other users.
• To send service notifications (e.g., campaign funded/failed).

3. What is public

Your name, profile fields (university, field of study, city, bio), and your campaigns are visible to visitors. Your email and payment details are private.

4. Payments (Stripe)

Card payments are processed by Stripe, a PCI-DSS compliant payment provider. We only receive from Stripe the information needed to run the platform (payment status, transaction id). Stripe's privacy policy applies to payment data.

5. Cookies

We use a session cookie to keep you logged in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

6. Your rights

You can access and correct your profile any time from your profile page. You may request account deletion by contacting us; we will delete personal data we hold, except where we must keep records for legal or payment reasons.

7. Data retention

We keep your data while your account is active. Campaigns and pledge records are kept for record-keeping and may be retained after account closure.
